AP Postal Circle Ranked No. 1, Crosses ₹4,000 Crore in Q1

The Union’s Minister of State for Rural Development and Communication, Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar on Tuesday lauded the Andhra Pradesh Postal Department for emerging as the best-performing postal department in the country, noting that India Post clocked revenue of more than Rs 4,000 crore in the first quarter for the first time.
Addressing the 1st Quarter review meeting of India Post Annual Business Plan 2026-27 held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Pemmasani termed this achievement as a milestone for India Post and its employees.
He said India Post’s first quarter revenue rose to over 4,000 crore this year from 3,280 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, registering a growth of 22 per cent.
The minister said continuous reviews, disciplined execution and dedication of postal employees helped India Post achieve annual revenue growth of around 16 per cent last year despite moderate growth in the first half of the financial year.
Highlighting the performance of Andhra Pradesh, Pemmasani said that Andhra Pradesh Postal Department ranks first among the 23 postal departments of the country and is the only department to achieve 102 per cent of its quarterly revenue target. He added that the state also ranks first in the country in postal operations, Postal Tracking Unit (MMU) delivery performance and Post Office Savings Bank services.
Pemmasani said the current growth should be seen as a stepping stone towards achieving 30 percent annual growth. He said India Post has become a trusted platform for logistics, financial inclusion and digital public services.
The Union minister of state urged officials to spend more time in the field, mentor underperforming postal circles and replicate best practices. He reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to establishing a technology-driven, people-centric India Post Office in line with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
