APCO in talks to sell Z-Morh tunnel in J&K to Alpha Alternatives for $267 mn

The 6.5 km tunnel, which provides year-round civilian access to Ladakh by overcoming uninterrupted military logistics and avalanche danger, was built in 2013. ₹2,400 crore and opened in 2025. The project, awarded by National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corp Ltd (NHIDCL), has a 15-year concession and the investments will be recovered through annual annual payments twice a year. ₹295 crore.
