Are you sure your car insurance is real? Probe finds 80,000 fake policies issued between 2022 and 2023
SCAM SUROED INSURANCE COMPANY’S E-Motor Portal
Frauds are allegedly benefiting from the e-motor portal of the insurance company and other online vehicles to publish these false policies. According to the company’s authorized representative, the defendant changed modified customer data, wrong -class -class vehicles types and provided false contact information to publish false insurance documents.
Thousands of non -real customer communication are thousands of fake policies
Between 2022 and 2023, the company found a total of 80,014 counterfeit policies, including 5,613 vehicles registered in Delhi. During the internal checks, company officials were able to monitor 14 customers with valid contact information. These customers confirmed that their policies were fake.
Policy details were tampered with, vehicles were represented incorrectly
“Talking about three-wheeled (passenger) and four-wheeled goods carriers and the wrong e-mail addresses and telephone numbers of customers by organizing two-wheeled policies against two-wheeled goods carriers and four-wheeled goods carriers.
Payments made through digital channels
An internal investigation revealed that most transactions – about 74%of the transactions – the UPI, through net banking and credit cards. Payments were deposited in the company’s account, but started by the defendant.
Complaints, “More investigations, 74% of these fraudulent policies, UPI, net banking, credit cards, etc. were purchased by transactions, the defendants revealed that the company was invested in the account of the company.”
The case is registered, the crime branch starts to Probe
After the court’s instructions, the Delhi police criminal branch recorded a lawsuit and started the investigation. The company reported financial losses as a result of fraud.
