Arizona shooting leaves 1 dead, 3 others shot in Phoenix: police

A man was killed and three more people, including two children, were shot after gunfire broke out in an Arizona parking lot Saturday afternoon.
The attack, which involved a sedan and an SUV, occurred in the parking lot of a business in South Phoenix around 2:45 p.m. local time.
Phoenix Police Department (PPD) Sgt. Brian Bower said at the press conference that there was an argument between two cars and both then pulled into the parking lot.
The argument continued in the parking lot and a fight broke out, according to Bower. After the fight, shots were opened.

The male suspect was alone in the sedan, Bower said. There was a man, woman and two children in the SUV.
Multiple shots were fired and all four people in the SUV were hit, police said.

The man in the SUV died at the scene, according to Bower. It was learned that the woman and two children in the SUV were taken to the hospital and their condition was critical.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, remained at the scene until police arrived, Bower said. The man was also treated at the hospital and later taken into custody.

Police have not confirmed any pending charges against the suspect and stated that the suspect is speaking with detectives.
Detectives have not yet ruled out the possibility that the incident was related to road rage or self-defense, as there is no indication the two parties knew each other, according to Bower.
