Assault on women in Kochi: key accused held

Police investigating the alleged attack on two young women in Kaloor detained Palakkad native Ali Akbar, the prime suspect in the case. He was reportedly nabbed by a team of Kochi city police from a hideout in Cherpulasery in Palakkad district on Saturday.

Thereupon, the police arrested 4 suspects regarding the incident, and it was learned that 6 defendants were on the run.

The alleged attack took place on Chakkalapadam Road in Kaloor around 4.30 am on June 2.
