At least one person is dead and two others are in critical condition after a Vanderbilt LifeFlight helicopter crashed near Lebanon, Tennessee, Saturday afternoon.
University officials confirmed that there were three crew members on the Airbus EC130T2 helicopter that crashed around 2:30 p.m.
There were no patients on the plane at the time of the accident.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on social media that it responded in coordination with multiple agencies and asked drivers to avoid the area.
The helicopter crashed in the 7100 block of Cairo Bend Road, according to the sheriff’s office. It is unclear what caused the accident.

“Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to our Vanderbilt LifeFlight colleagues, their families and loved ones during this difficult time,” a Vanderbilt spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. he wrote.
The identity of the deceased crew member has not yet been released.
Rep. Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn., reacted to the incident in X, stating that he was praying for the victims.
“Please join Amy and me in praying for those involved in the LifeFlight helicopter crash in Wilson County,” DesJarlais said in a statement. “Search for alternative routes to avoid the area so Emergency Services personnel can continue working.”
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) told Fox News Digital it is investigating.
