At the vigil for slain teenager Isla Bell

Isla Bell was just 19 years old when she was reported missing in October 2024. Isla’s family and friends pleaded and campaigned for nearly six weeks for help finding the missing teenager, until her body was found in a discarded fridge at a waste management facility in Dandenong, Victoria.

Police would later charge Marat Ganiev, 55, with murder, claiming in court records that CCTV footage showed him attacking Bell at her flat in St Kilda East, the last place Isla was known to be alive.
