UN Security Council, with US support, condemns strikes on Qatar

The United Nations (Reuters) -United Nations Security Council condemned the latest strikes to Doha, the capital of Qatar on Thursday, but did not mention Israel in a statement accepted by all 15 members, including Israel’s ally.
Israel tried to kill Hamas’s political leaders with an attack on Tuesday, and increased the military action in what the US defines as a unilateral attack that did not advance the US and Israel interests.
The United States traditionally protects allied Israel in the United Nations. Support for the notification of the Security Council that can only be approved by consensus reflects President Donald Trump’s unhappiness from the attack by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Council members stressed the importance of the increase and expressed their solidarity with Qatar.
The Operation Doha, which is widely condemned, was particularly sensitive because Qatar is hosting and intermediating negotiations aimed at providing a ceasefire during the Gaza War.
“Council members, including those killed by Hamas, the release of hostages, including those killed and the end of the war in Gaza and the end of the war is our greatest priority,” he emphasized. “
The Security Council will meet on Thursday to discuss the Israeli attack at a meeting attended by Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
