Will Form Govt In Tamil Nadu With Absolute Majority: TVK

Chennai: TVK national spokesperson Felix Gerald on Monday expressed confidence that the party will form the government with a simple majority in Tamil Nadu as initial election trends showed that the party “has recorded high growth”. Speaking to PTI Videos, Gerald stated that the results were awaited and claimed that the people of Tamil Nadu elected TVK because they were “fed up” with the established parties.

“They may have 50 or 75 years of experience, but they only have experience in plundering the state,” Gerald said, adding that voters trusted TVK as an alternative.

Responding to questions about party leader Vijay’s limited presence in the media during the campaign, Gerald noted that the leader preferred to “speak directly to the people” rather than speaking through the media. He dismissed previous criticism and media talk that the party would struggle to win even a single seat, citing high voter turnout as evidence of popular support.

The spokesman, who harshly criticized the DMK for allegedly ignoring TVK in the election struggle, said, “They were running in a dark room with their eyes closed. Now they will understand the world they live in.”

Although the trends were in their infancy, Gerald remained adamant about the future of the party, asserting that TVK would form the government without any external support.
