‘TVK Vijay’ in Tamil Nadu: What the Jana Nayagan actor said about poll alliance with DMK, BJP and AIADMK before TN election results

Could TVK make its debut in Tamil Nadu?
Early trends suggest that TVK’s first election disrupted the long-standing dominance of the Dravidian majors and positioned the party as a serious challenger in many regions. Most exit polls predicted DMK to win in the state for the second consecutive time.
But things took an interesting turn with Axis My India predicting that Vijay Thalapathy could emerge as a kingmaker in Tamil Nadu, which has been a bastion of Dravidian politics for over 50 years. He predicted that Axis My India and his party could win 98-100 seats.
What Vijay said about DMK, BJ
The actor turned TVK leader closed his campaign at the YMCA Ground in Chennai on Tuesday, where he vowed to send the DMK government home. “This is the last election campaign that will send the DMK government home.”
He accused the DMK government of burdening citizens through taxes and increased costs. Before expanding the target, he said, “After deceiving our people with false promises, they increased the housing tax, water tax, professional tax, prices, garbage tax. They only increased the suffering of the people.”
Political enemy of DMK, ideological enemy of BJP
“Our political enemy is DMK, our ideological enemy is BJP; there is no change in that,” he said, reaffirming a central line in TVK’s positioning. At another point, he alleged that the DMK and the BJP were running an “underground business”, claiming that after the defeat, Prime Minister MK Stalin “will fall at the feet of (Narendra) Modi and Amit Shah” to escape corruption cases.
