Australia police defend actions after violence at protest over Israeli president visit

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who will meet Herzog later on Tuesday, said he was “devastated” by the scenes and said they “shouldn’t have happened”, but defended the invitation to Herzog and said protesters were “undermining” their cause at the protest.
