Spicy stuff between England captain Ben Stokes and fast bowler Jofra Archer in the middle of the Adelaide Oval.

The quick took 12 runs off his first seven overs of the morning after dispatching nasty short and wide balls that Starc assisted on his way to the boundary.

On the eighth ball, Archer finally got to his feet and bowled Starc.

Stokes ran in to hit Archer for a five but Archer didn’t see it initially.

They then shook hands before Stokes gave Archer a stern, not-so-subtle remark. Stokes was clearly unhappy with Archer not being included in the first ball.

The captain didn’t look happy as Archer shrugged.

Are tensions rising in the England camp? It’s not often you see a captain get so angry at a player.

Archer’s pacers became a matter of debate in the first few Tests.
