9 October 2025 03:30 | News

The Australian officials are preparing for the return of more women and children than the former Islamic state in the Middle East.

Two women and four children, Australian citizens, returned to Australia after they succeeded in kidnapping themselves from Syria to Lebanon. After passing the security checks, they were given the Australian passport.

Women and their children who went to Syria or taken to Syria to become a partner of ISIS members began to live in refugee camps in Syria after the collapse of the terrorist organization.

The fact that the opposition criticized the return of the so -called “ISIS brides” and said that this was kept secret from the public because of community security concerns, created a political storm for the Albanian government.

The Federal Government said that these people have come to their own will and that they were not helped by the Australian officials or that they were not sent back to their countries.

Australian Federal Police Deputy Commissioner Stephen Nutt said that the authorities are preparing for more people under similar conditions, but how many people will not confirm how many people will come due to possible fluctuations.

Mr. Nutt also refused to verify six people and said that the investigations continued after their feedback.

At a hearing in Parliament on Wednesday, the investigations said that the federal police were part of the “Australians fighting overseas terrorism”, but did not include details.

“I assure you that the appropriate investigations and criminal investigations continue to continue as part of Australia’s open sea cohort in the open sea.

Emphasizing that it does not make a special reference to the group, Mr. Nutt said that the scope of a comprehensive investigation against people in the conflict zone may include terrorist criminal crimes, foreign attacks and crimes against humanity.

Authorities of the Ministry of Interior confirmed that six people know that they wanted to return from June to 2 months before they came to Australia on September 26th.

The National Security President of the Ministry, according to the Anti -Terror assessment of a citizen as a risk of security if the risk of a temporary re -entry into Australia to prohibit a temporary exclusion order, he said.

He said that the risk was managed and appropriate measures were taken before coming.

Hamish Hansford said at the hearing: “The advice of operational institutions is that a temporary exclusion decision is not necessary and our decision on the legal threshold of the temporary exclusion decision is not met.”

Commissioner Krissy Barrett added: “I want to provide assurance and confidence that the AFP remains properly prepared and positioned to respond to self -managerial feedback from the displaced people camps”.

Interior Minister Tony Burke categorically rejected that the government re -installed any group due to community concerns and said, “Australian citizens can do it when they want to return to Australia.”

Interior Minister Stephanie Foster confirmed that the Labor Party sent four women and 13 children in 2022 and the former coalition government sent back to their countries in 2019.

Mr. Burke said, “There are also situations where people return to their own will.”

Minister, “the debate recently returned to women and children,” while the old liberal government period of 40 people returned to their own will, he added.
