Bandi Sanjay’s Son Bhagirath Files Interim Bail Plea In Telangana HC

Hyderabad: Bandi Sai Bhagirath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, approached the Telangana High Court seeking interim bail in connection with the POCSO case filed against him at the Pet Basheerabad Police Station in the city. While the Supreme Court is currently observing summer holidays, the petition has been submitted to the Holiday Board. The Supreme Court Vacation Board is scheduled to hear the petition on May 14.
Bhagirath is currently facing allegations of sexual harassment of an underage girl and the case has turned serious with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directing the authorities to initiate an immediate investigation into the incident. The Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio, asked Director General of Police (DGP) CV Anand to initiate an investigation into the case registered against Bhagirath.
The Prime Minister questioned why no action was taken so far when the complaint was made on May 8, 2026. On Monday, he announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj to expedite the investigation into the POCSO Act case registered against Bhagirath and the DGP issued orders to constitute the SIT as per his instructions.
