Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama’s film production company Higher Ground will reportedly leave Netflix later this year.
Deadline notified It was announced on Sunday that the company’s current first-look deal with the streaming giant will end this year. Sources claim that the Obamas will “transition to independence” instead of renewing the agreement as in the past.
“According to sources, the deal with Netflix has not yet ended, but Higher Ground plans to remain independent and not enter into a studio deal that will expire anytime soon, while continuing to collaborate with the global broadcaster on existing projects,” the report stated.
