Barricade waterlogged roads, causeways; evacuate people from low-lying areas to relief centres: Telangana CM

Considering the estimation of mid -heavy rain for nine regions, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, TaLangana Prime Minister A. Revanth Redy Morning issued a series of instructions to the authorities, including the deployment of rescue teams, to release people from low regions to the aid centers and others.
According to a press release, Nizamabad, Sanggarereddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam were expected to receive heavy rainfall.
Traffic should be stopped on low -level bridges, passages and irrigated roads. Police and Revenue Department were directed to put barricades there.
The irrigation department should closely monitor the water levels in reservoirs, lakes and ponds and inform the relevant collectors and personnel at the ground level if water is released. Sand bags should be placed in the lakes, in vicious reservoirs.
National Disaster Response Power (NDRF), State Disaster Response Power (NDRF) should be deployed in advance in areas where it will receive heavy rain. The Prime Minister said that they would coordinate with collector by taking aid measures.
Health department officials were directed to stock up enough drugs and to organize health camps when necessary.
Redy, income power, Panchayat Raj, roads and buildings, health department, police, firefighters and other departments have to work in coordination, he said.
