‘Basava Sri’ award for H.D. Deve Gowda

Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda said on Monday that there has been a general decline in all spheres of society and pro-people movements have diminished.

“Those in the know have become skeptical about the system. Today we are witnessing a decline in every sphere of society. The professional grassroots movement has collapsed. What we need now is the philosophy of Allama, the action of Basavanna and the anger of Ambigara Chowdaiah,” the former Prime Minister wrote in his letter of thanks to the Basava Samiti, which selected him for the ‘Basava Sri’ award.
