BBC at the site of Trump’s planned ‘triumphal arc’

The Trump administration has shared renderings of the proposed giant triumphal arch with gold accents, dubbed the “Arc de Trump” by some.
The structure is planned to be approximately 250 feet (76.2 meters) tall; that’s one foot for every year since the independence of the United States. Its height would make it more than twice as tall as the Lincoln Memorial, which sits just across a landmark bridge from the arch’s proposed location. It will be the highest triumphal arch in the world.
The BBC’s Ione Wells explains why the plan is controversial.
