A bearded trans woman with a “grotesque obsession” with dirty adult nappies has been jailed after she was caught poking around in a bin. Martin Tarling, who goes by the name Abbi Taylor, was previously caught smearing feces on milk bottles and a nursery fire escape as part of a vile attack on nursing homes and nurseries where he searched for dirty nappies and incontinence products.
Her Facebook profile proudly referred to her as an “adult diaper lover.” In 2023 the defendant was made subject to a criminal behavior order preventing Taylor from coming within 100 meters of nurseries after he was found guilty of causing harassment, alarm or distress to a care provider. Taylor later breached the order and was given a two-year suspended prison sentence for a string of offenses in August last year. Now Taylor has been brought back to court for four further breaches of the criminal conduct order and sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Recorder Tony Hawks, of Newcastle Crown Court, told Taylor: “The purpose of this order was to combat your seemingly strange obsession with rummaging through bins near care homes and nurseries to retrieve dirty nappies or soiled incontinence clothes.
“In the opinion of psychiatrists, this behavior is not motivated by any sexual motivation. I am ready to accept that.”
“However, your behavior is clearly antisocial and extremely distressing to the people affected by it. Once released from custody, you must understand that if you continue to behave in this way, you will receive increasingly longer prison sentences.”
Prosecutor Claire Anderson said that on December 27 last year, a woman whose husband needed incontinence pads noticed some of the pads had been taken from the bin and lying in the garden, which she initially attributed to windy weather.

But later the same day he heard the same calm voice, adding: “He looked out his bedroom window and saw the defendant.”
The court heard Taylor “put his foot in the bin” and the victim shouted “what are you doing”, causing him to run away with a bin bag.
The next day Taylor returned to the same address and was told by the same resident to “get out of the bin”, but again stole a bag of rubbish from there with him.
Ms Anderson said: “This time he was able to take photographs which were later identified by police as the defendant.”
On December 29 and January 7 Taylor targeted an address on Tyneside and repeated the same behaviour. The 47-year-old, from South Shields, admitted four breaches of the criminal conduct order.
Recorder Hawks said of the new attack: “They are very strange, extremely anti-social and undoubtedly cause great distress to people who have to witness or are affected by your behaviour.”

The court heard Taylor had 99 previous convictions for driving and dishonesty.
Nick Lane, defending, said: “There is no evidence of any sexual motivation in this case. The doctor urges the court to distinguish between what might be considered unusual or anti-social distressing behavior and cases diagnosed with paraphilic disorder.”
“He has been detained for a long time. He is determined to continue working when he is released, and he is doing very well on probation.”
Taylor, who was on bail last year for dumping dirty adult nappies in nurseries, was caught climbing into a wheelie bin with his trousers down by a panicked resident who filmed the incident.
Staff and parents at the nurseries were also horrified by the actions of Taylor, who smeared faeces on milk bottles and the fire escape of one of the nurseries. Workers at a childcare center in Cleadon noticed nappies being thrown into the facility, and in May 2023 a female staff member saw Taylor emerging from one of the bins.
The manager of a nursery school in South Shields reported seeing someone “wandering around” in one of the clinical waste bins in January 2023.
When staff at a nursery in Jarrow found up to 50 dirty nappies on the premises, they initially thought a rival business might be dumping waste on their premises.
Taylor was interviewed and admitted to going into the dumpster “to sleep and find comfort.” The court was told there were similar incidents dating back to 2019.
