Gallup’s Social Research Director Lydia Saad said, “The decrease in alcohol consumption is caused by people who have been legally legal in the entertainment marijuana that is legal in about half of the US states,” Gallup said.

Gallup has followed the drinking behavior of Americans since 1939 and the views of moderate drinking on the health outcomes since 2001.
