Bengaluru Flipkart delivery agent arrested after entering woman’s flat despite her refusal: She alleges he flashed her after forcing his way in; man says he entered only to use the washroom

The accused, identified as 22-year-old Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, a native of Belagavi district, was arrested after the woman lodged a formal complaint with the Whitefield police. He denied the allegation, but investigators say he admitted to entering the apartment.
What did the Bengaluru woman claim happened in her apartment?
According to the woman’s complaint and her account shared on social media, the delivery driver arrived at her home to deliver an online order before asking if she could use the woman’s restroom, saying it was an emergency.
He said he repeatedly refused the request because he lived alone and did not allow strangers into his home. He also suggested she get help from her neighbors instead.
Despite this, she claimed that the deliveryman took off her slippers and entered her apartment without her consent.
He said he turned on his phone’s camera, left the main door open, and stayed near the entrance the entire time because he was worried about his safety.
Explaining what happened next, the woman claimed that the delivery driver exposed himself to her after she left the toilet.
“I felt shocked, violated, humiliated and completely unsafe in my own home,” she wrote, adding that she was “horrified” throughout the incident.
Additionally, “‘No’ should have been the end of the conversation. No one has the right to ignore someone’s boundaries or enter their home without permission.”
The woman later shared a video explaining the incident and said that she wanted to raise awareness instead of remaining silent. The clip also shows the delivery manager leaving the apartment.
What did the defendant tell the police?
According to police, Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat admitted entering the flat to use the toilet but denied exposing himself to the woman. Kamat told investigators he only entered the apartment because he really needed to use the restroom.
His version is now part of the ongoing investigation.
The complainant’s allegations and the defendant’s defense have not yet been tested during the course of the investigation.
What action did the Bengaluru police take?
After the woman lodged a formal complaint, the Bengaluru Police registered a case under Sections. 75, 79 and 329(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Whitefield Deputy Police Commissioner Saidulu Adavath said the suspect was arrested following a complaint.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
What did Flipkart say?
Flipkart said in a statement that it was “deeply disturbed” by the incident and immediately terminated its delivery partner’s involvement.
“We are deeply disturbed by the incident and offer our full support to the customer. Customer safety is non-negotiable.”
The delivery manager was removed from the platform as soon as the issue came to attention, the company said.
He added that an FIR has been registered and he is fully cooperating with the investigating authorities.
Flipkart also said that all its delivery partners undergo background verification and mandatory training before hiring, while adding that such incidents are “extremely rare” but “even a single such incident is unacceptable”.
The company said it is reviewing the incident to determine whether additional measures are needed to further strengthen customer safety.

The woman first described the incident through a video published on social media; Here, he explained that he did not feel safe after the delivery manager allegedly entered his home, despite his repeated refusals.
The post received a lot of attention, following which the Bengaluru Police contacted him and subsequently lodged a formal complaint.
