Sakleshpur Rural Police has registered a case against a Bengaluru-based real estate agent for allegedly trying to run over on-duty police personnel, including a probationary IPS officer, on Sakleshpur-Hanablu Road on Saturday (May 16).
The case was filed against Kiran (31), a real estate agent living in Rachenahalli, Bengaluru. Probationary IPS officer Shubham S. Pawar, in-charge of Sakleshpur Rural Station, was on duty along with his support staff around 5.30 pm on the day of the incident.
When the staff signaled Kiran to stop the vehicle on the officer’s instructions, Kiran allegedly accelerated and tried to hit them. The staff narrowly escaped and managed to stop the vehicle, but Kiran pushed the staff aside and sped away.
Police tracked the vehicle through the Motor Vehicle Crime Tracking and Reporting System (MCTNS) and registered a case based on the statement of plainclothes constable Chethan. Kiran is accused of attempted murder, among other crimes.
