Bengaluru: Toyota BizIntel Hub to come up at KWIN City with ₹1,200 cr. investment

In the first major investment to be made at KWIN City in Bengaluru, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will install the global standard BizIntel Hub. KWIN City is being developed by the State government between Dobbspet and Doddaballapur with an investment of ₹ 1,200 crore from TKM.

The agreement was signed on Monday by Industry Department Principal Secretary S. Selvakumar and Toyota’s COO and director of special projects Sudeep Dalvi. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil were also present. The Prime Minister announced that this would be the first of its kind in the world.

Mr. Patil said the company will invest ₹1,200 crore as seed capital over the next five years and create jobs for around 200 people. Approximately 300 decares of land will be allocated to Toyota for the project. Vehicle production, testing activities and the establishment of an advanced automobile production facility will be carried out here.

He said innovation, healthcare and information technology will be given priority in KWIN City. 7 to 8 reputable universities, healthcare institutions and research organizations around the world have expressed interest in investing, and it has been stated that agreements with them will be concluded as soon as possible.

KWIN City will be developed in phases across an area of ​​5,800 acres and the first phase is already underway. The overall project is expected to attract investments worth ₹48,000 crore and create almost one lakh jobs, Mr. Patil said.

Industries Commissioner Khushboo Goel, Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board CEO Govind Reddy, Toyota chief technical officer Yoshinori Noritake, senior representatives G. Shankar and Vikram Gulati, vice-chairman Ramesh Rao, managing director HJ Kiran and other officials were present.
