Berlin: Urgent manhunt after car crashes into pride parade crowd in Germany, killing one and injuring others

One person was killed and dozens were injured when a car plowed into a crowd gathered at a pride parade in Berlin on Saturday night, authorities said.

Police said a white vehicle plowed into a group of people celebrating Christopher Street Day, the annual LGBTQI+ event, around 10pm local time in the German capital.

In the update made on social media, officers said that one person died, 17 people were injured, some with life-threatening conditions. BBC reports.

An urgent manhunt is ongoing to locate one or more suspects, police added.

The area near Tiergarten park where the incident occurred was cordoned off by police.

The Pride event was immediately canceled.
