MAGA Senator’s Ultimatum To Olympians Over Trump Leads To Gold-Medal Reality Check
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) gave an ultimatum to US athletes competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics, failing to win a medal. They are not happy with what is happening in America Under Donald Trump’s administration.
“Anyone who goes to the Olympics to represent the United States and then says they don’t want to represent the United States should be stripped of their Olympic uniform immediately,” Scott said in a video shared on X.
Scott, one of Trump’s aides, wrote in the clip’s caption that the United States is “a beacon of freedom and democracy” — although he doesn’t want athletes to use their freedom of speech to speak their minds.

Critics on social media pointed out that loving America does not mean accepting every policy of Trump. They also defended athletes’ rights to express their opinions.
