UK set to get first hospice dedicated to LGBTQ+ people with specialist HIV focus
A Darüceze in Sussex will be the first person dedicated to the LGBT people of the UK, which is described as “turning point development for the community.
Sussex Beacon announced that there will be the only nursing home in the country that offers a special service to the LGBT community, focusing on HIV maintenance to the LGBT community.
The Brighton -based charity supports people living with HIV, but expands its offer to a wider community regardless of the HIV status.
Sussex Beacon CEO Rachel Brett, “LGBTQ+ community built Beacon, and now we will give it back more powerful and more inclusive than ever,” he said.
“It was initially established to provide care for people who died with AIDS -related diseases. Thanks to advances in HIV treatment, we focused on ensuring that people in local communities receive the help and support they need.
“In addition, we are happy to use the fantastic facility necessary to renew our Darüceze Maintenance for the LGBTQ+ community.”
The 2023 National Report from Hospice UK found that in many cases, trans and gender -ending life care by different people were not inclusive of themselves and their needs.
Trans and gender found that various people have reported examples of insensitivity such as misunderstanding, confusion about their identities, and bad physical care examples.
“Sussex Beacon was uniquely placed to change it, Ms Mrs. Brett added. “It is fair to say that we need our community more than ever.
“In the next few years in doing this transition, it will be difficult for the next few years, but we will really create something transformative with bulk support.”
Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven MP Nhs Sussex and Chris Ward confirmed that they support development.

“In addition to the care of Darüceze, the experience of providing expert society care to people living with HIV is invaluable and supports our desire to bring care directly to hospitals and communities directly or in the local neighborhoods in the community centers.
