BJP holds legislative party meeting ahead of one-day Assembly Session in Madhya Pradesh

The state assembly secretariat issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday, stating that the hearings will be held from 11:00 to 13:30 and again from 15:00 to 17:30 unless otherwise directed by the Speaker.

The special session’s agenda highlights discussions on policies and initiatives related to women’s empowerment, reflecting the government’s emphasis on inclusive development.
Prime Minister Mohan Yadav will present a Government Resolution for women empowerment and development. The decision will include provisions regarding the implementation of 33 percent voting rights for women in the Legislative Assembly.
The debate will be initiated by CM Yadav on behalf of the BJP.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Legislative Assembly has also announced that a One-Day Special Session will be held at the Old Secretariat on Tuesday, April 28. The Odisha Legislative Assembly has called for a one-day session on April 30 to discuss women’s participation in Indian democracy. This comes after Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha voted against the Constitution Amendment Bill on April 17. The Lok Sabha took up the Constitution (One Hundred and Thirty-First Amendment) Bill, the Delimitation Bill and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill together to pass. Following the discussion of the three bills, 298 members voted in favor and 230 members voted against the Constitutional Amendment Draft.

After the Constitution Amendment Bill was dropped, NDA parties criticized the Opposition parties, accusing them of blocking one-third reservation for women legislators.
The BJP held Jan Akrosh Padyatras in many states, criticizing the Opposition parties.
