Luckily: The BJP on Thursday announced new officers to replace all six district presidents for its Uttar Pradesh unit in a bid to strengthen its organizational structure ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.

According to the list released by state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, the party has appointed 19 vice-presidents and eight general secretaries. Nineteen provincial ministers were also appointed as incumbents.

The list was released after several rounds of consultations between party leaders, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, senior state leaders and the central leadership.

The list showed former minister Suresh Rana, Satyapal Saini, Priyanka Rawat, Archana Mishra, Pooja Pal, Suresh Maurya and Rajesh Yadav being elected as vice presidents.

Ram Pratap Singh Chauhan, Geeta Shakya, Abhijat Mishra, Upendra Rawat, Sanjay Rai, Shankar Lodhi, Dilip Patel and Rajesh Chaudhary were appointed as general secretaries.

All six regional presidents were replaced.

According to the list, Nawab Singh Nagar has been appointed as the district president of Western Uttar Pradesh, Puran Lal Lodhi of Braj, Ram Kishore Sahu of Kanpur, Avadhesh Dwivedi of Awadh, Ashok Chaurasia of Kashi and Vinod Rai of Gorakhpur.

The BJP has retained Manish Dixit as the state media coordinator and this is his fourth consecutive term in the post. While Dinesh Pratap Singh has been appointed as the chief spokesperson, Himanshu Raj Pandit will serve as the state social media coordinator.

Party leaders said the new team reflects the BJP’s effort to expand its outreach and sharpen its organizational machinery ahead of the next assembly elections.

They also stated that the appointments were made keeping in mind representation across regions and communities, at a time when Samajwadi Party’s emphasis on the “PDA” (pichhda, Dalit and alpsankhyak) social coalition continues.

The BJP is expected to officially inform the media about the organizational changes in the coming days.
