Boddington Bushfire: DFES video shows wholesome moment firefighters give water to joeys after blaze

Video captured the sweet moment a group of firefighters found a pair of cubs sheltering under a burnt tree during the Boddington bushfire.
Wanneroo and Rockingham volunteer fire crews found workers crouched under the fallen tree while patrolling the fire in Boddington, which burned 4,149 hectares of woodland earlier this week, according to DFES.
The video shows a firefighter approaching the children and offering them a glass of water from a bottle, which the thirsty children were more than happy to accept.
“After a glass of water and a quick check, the birds were safely on their way,” the caption read.
“Moments like these quietly stay with you long after the fire is out.”
The fire, which forced residents to evacuate the area on Christmas Day, has been downgraded to a Bushfire Advisory alert for the town of Boddington and people in the area north of Pinjarra Williams Road and west of Bannister Marradong Road.
The advice also covers the Bannister, Marradong and Wuraming areas to the north and west of the Boddington Gold Mine.
There is currently no danger to life or home safety.
