Bondi Beach hero tackles gunman in insane footage | World | News

A hero was caught on camera bravely tackling a gunman after attackers opened fire at a Jewish event in Sydney, Australia. While the partygoers were having a happy celebration evening at the world-famous Bondi Beach close to the city, two gunmen got out of the vehicle and started shooting.
Incredible video shared on social media shows one of the suspected gunmen firing before a man hiding behind parked cars approaches. The man suddenly jumps on the gunman and struggles with the attacker, then the attacker neutralizes him and turns the gun on the terrorist suspect.
According to ABC News, a Jewish Hanukkah celebration was reportedly underway in the area where the attack occurred; but there is no official confirmation that this incident was a target. Chanukah, also known as Chanukah, is an eight-day festival of lights.
Two people have since been arrested. According to Australia’s ABC news, police media confirmed that 10 people died in the shooting, including one attacker and nine victims. Twelve people were also injured, including several police officers who responded to the incident, the channel said. A second attacker is also detained among the injured.
A New South Wales Ambulance spokesman said ambulance crews took 16 patients to hospital and treated a number of others at the scene in Sydney. He said: “We were called to the scene at around 6.45pm to reports of multiple people being shot on Bondi Beach. We have over 40 sources.”
Bondi Beach is popular with tourists and foreigners. Home Affairs Minister Shabana Mahmood said she would meet with her Australian counterpart later on Sunday about the incident at Bondi Beach.
He told the BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg programme: “I came into the studio this morning and saw the breaking news.
“I can fully understand the concern this may cause for people living here about relatives in Australia, but above all our thoughts must be with the victims of this attack in Australia and the Australian people.
“We will of course be watching closely as details emerge about exactly what happened and I will speak to my Australian counterpart later today.”
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said: “The scenes in Bondi are shocking and distressing. Police and emergency responders are on the ground working to save lives. My thoughts are with everyone affected.”
“I have just spoken to the AFP commissioner and the Premier of NSW. We are working with NSW Police and will provide further updates as more information is confirmed.
“I urge people in the area to follow information from NSW Police.”
Nationals MP Michael McCormack posted on X: “Sickening scenes in Bondi. Two attackers shooting indiscriminately at innocent people. This is not Australia. Notice to locals and first responders.”
