Bournemouth confirm investigation into star over alleged messages to 15-year-old girl as player is excluded from squad for match this weekend
A senior footballer is under investigation over allegations he sent inappropriate posts to a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
AFC Bournemouth defender Alex Jiménez, 21, allegedly sent a series of messages to the schoolgirl.
There is no claim that the football player met the girl.
However, the club confirmed it had launched an investigation into Jiménez, who signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with The Cherries in February, and has been ruled out of tomorrow’s (Saturday) tough Premier League tie with Fulham.
The following statements were made in the statement: ‘AFC Bournemouth is aware of the posts of right-back Alex Jimenez circulating on social media.
‘The club is aware of the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.

The 21-year-old football player was transferred from AC Milan to the Premier League team on a one-year loan last summer.
‘As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League match against Fulham and the club will have no further comment at this time.’
The Spain Under-21 international started his career with Real Madrid Castilla, the Spanish giants’ reserve team, before moving to Milan.
He joined the Premier League club on an initial one-year loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. He scored his first goal for Bournemouth in a 3–2 home win against Liverpool.
