BrewDog could be broken up as craft beer business put up for sale | BrewDog

Beer maker BrewDog could break up after advisers were called in to help find new investors.
The Scotland-based brewer, which produces craft beers such as Punk IPA and Elvis Juice, has appointed consultants AlixPartners to oversee the sales process.
BrewDog announced last month it would close its distilling brands, sparking concerns about business at its site in Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
Founded in 2007 by friends James Watt and Martin Dickie, the company announced that it decided to focus on beer products.
No decision has been made regarding the sales process.
A spokesperson for BrewDog said: “As with many businesses operating in a challenging economic environment and facing constant macro volatility, we regularly review our options with a focus on the long-term strength and sustainability of the company.
“Following a year of decisive action in 2025 with a focus on costs and operating efficiency, we have appointed AlixPartners to support a structured and competitive process to evaluate the next phase of business investment.
“This is a deliberate and disciplined step focused on strengthening the long-term future of the BrewDog brand and operations.”
The spokesperson added: “BrewDog remains a global pioneer in craft beer: a premium consumer brand, the No.1 independent brewer in the UK and has a highly engaged global community.
“Although no final decision has been made, we believe this merger will attract significant interest.
“Our breweries, bars and venues continue to operate as normal. We will not comment on further speculation.”
The company announced job cuts in October last year following losses of £37 million.
BrewDog operates four breweries as well as 72 bars worldwide.
The firm employs approximately 1,400 people and has breweries in Ellon as well as in the US, Australia and Germany.
