Brewers’ ace Jacob Misiorowski is statistically untouchable as he faces Paul Skenes and the Pirates

There are some games that are so exciting that it doesn’t matter whether they make sense or not. There are 162 games played in the regular season in baseball, and some teams only have three games to decide whether to continue once they make the playoffs. All of these games are meaningful and exciting.
But there are few must-watch games throughout the season. This game may not mean anything in the end, but we have a shooting match to watch.
The Milwaukee Brewers continue to do what they do. Every year, this “little engine” club seems to go off the rails, and every year they continue to get better and dominate their league.
They are already over .500 in 25 games this year and have the second-best record in all of baseball. Whether that’s enough and still helps them achieve postseason success is a different story, but they’ve positioned themselves to do it again and that’s all you can ask for.

One reason for their success is the phenomenon that has taken over the top today. That man is Jacob Misiorowski, who is statistically the best pitcher in baseball this season. He is 10-4 on the year (4th in the Majors) and leads in ERA with 1.62, strikeouts with 167, and WHIP with 0.76. In two July starts, he allowed four earned runs, including four homers. In 10 starts in May and June, he allowed four earned runs. He hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a game this season. He faced the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier this season and allowed three earned runs on six hits in six innings.
The Pirates are in the midst of a rebuild and will benefit from learning how the Brewers do it. To Pittsburgh’s credit, they are 47-47 on the season and are trying to find ways to win games. They invested in the club during the off-season and it paid off. Their offense is significantly better, but the shooting problem remains. The team has a 4.32 ERA and 1.31 WHIP overall.

Even today’s starter, Cy Young Paul Skenes, struggled compared to what we normally see from him. For the season. Skenes is 7-8 with a 3.58 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. You know, a lot of pitchers would love to have those numbers, but this would be the highest of his young career. Skenes’ season started poorly and he performed brilliantly in April.
But he hasn’t had a clean start since mid-May. He has allowed 30 earned runs in his last 10 games. Again, not bad, but it’s frustrating for him. He faced and beat the Brewers earlier this year, pitching seven innings allowing no runs and striking out just one hit.
I’m sure this will be a tough game to live up to the hype, but I’ll check it out just because of the starting pitchers. Although Misiorowski struggled in his last game, he is in elite form. Skenes was unhittable the last time he faced the Brewers, and he appears to be performing better in Pittsburgh than he did on the road.

This is a game whose total I won’t touch. If anything, I would recommend taking over because the bullpen could take over eventually, but this is also a game that could be 0-0 going into the eighth inning. Look at player support for low hits and anyone with plus money it’s a good game in my opinion. I’m officially taking the Brewers. They are the better team and Misiorowski shouldn’t be a fair price to any team right now, but he is. Give me Milwaukee.
