Poll: Will Brisbane recover in the second half?
Kickoff: Broncos chase 14-point deficit
And we’re back. Hull KR lead by 14 points. The Broncos start without Corey Jensen for the remainder of the game after failing his HIA. The home team also lost full-back Arthur Mourgue, causing a change of spine when Karl Lawton came off the bench. Star quarterback Mikey Lewis moves to fullback. Payne Haas played the entire first half after what appeared to be an early ankle issue.

Statistics: How did Hull KR win?
Halftime: Broncos’ genius begins to show
The Reece Walsh Experience is right here. He made a nice start from deep in his own half. His raw speed takes him past defenders and deep into the backfield. Unfortunately, as he chases men outside, his shot flies 15 meters too deep, directly over the dead-ball line.
The Broncos almost scored another try in the first half, with Hull KR forced to kick Reynolds’ kick over the byline where Josiah Karapani was lurking.

Brisbane have a lot to do in the second half. Hull KR were almost perfect. But the Broncos definitely have points. This is a fun thing.

Hull KR lose full-backs as Broncos break down
Ezra Mam crosses the line but is stopped and Brisbane strikes again. But nothing comes of it as the set play is widely disrupted, with Adam Reynolds and Kotoni Staggs colliding as they go awry.
Hull KR full-back Arthur Mourgue is also out; Looks like he has a serious arm/possibly chest injury, he actually came in holding on to it in pain. Another penalty sees Hull KR march downfield again.

Try: Broncos respond with big effort
Kick is experimenting – it’s hot right now. And Brisbane is on the board in a very useful way. They finally gain ground position and after a good set, Adam Reynolds kicks over the top into space and into a small army of unmarked Broncos receivers.
Josiah Karapani flies for it and lobs it back onto the field of play before being taken to the sideline. Gehamat Shibasaki is on the scene with a handy record player for pinpoint shooting. Reynolds can’t convert but has finally gained some momentum for the NRL champions.

Try: Hull KR’s kicking scheme delivers again
All of Brisbane is on the sea. Kotoni Staggs made his second mistake in 20 minutes. Reece Walsh is cleared after being cornered once again with a clever strike.
Hull KR play some decent English rugby league. 12 sets that are challenging, unpretentious, and completed with many attempts. And they attack the Broncos line again, short balls are the order of the day.
And yet another risky Tyrone May strike leads to a try. May’s cross-field shot falls well short of the line but the Hull KR followers are ready and respond.
It comes down to Jez Litten and he puts in a much better effort. Grubber is behind the line and Joe Burgess flies over for the home side’s third on 24 minutes.

Try: Broncos will be lost on their own line when Hull KR attack again
Payne Haas limps out of the fight. Reece Walsh passes the ball to his own line after being tackled by Hull KR defenders. It’s all happening. Haas is in good shape and is back in the defensive line. And the home team is in action again. Dear oh dear.
Soft goal line defense from the Broncos. They play very short with three short balls in a row. Elliot Minchela crashes in third place carrying Reece Walsh and Cory Paix. Hull KR took a double digit lead. Who would have thought of this? Corey Jensen also failed his HIA, that’s his day job.

Try: Hull KR squeeze first points to stun Broncos
Hull KR, here they come. A Kotoni Staggs error gives them field position. This is followed by a set of repetitions. And then Tyrone May poked the most dangerous piece of shit you’ll ever see.
He dislocated his thigh and knee, but the game continues. And Tom Amone – journeyman prop from Canterbury, Souths and perhaps the Tigers? – the person who jumped on him for the first points.

Captain booked for elbow, Broncos prop injured
Drama is early. Both parties come together for a brief chat and embrace about a topic. The Hull KR captain’s tackle on Deine Mariner involved an elbow strike. Elliot Minchella is on the report. But the person who is truly troubled is Corey Jensen. He fell to the ground in early intervention; Payne appears to be Haas’ friendly fire. Jensen is very goofy and outspoken. This could be a curtain call for him today.
