Brisbane Olympics play 8 More Years reflects Victoria Park stadium concerns

“Tracey feels left behind and wants to be seen. I’m very inspired by my own family and the way we interact – sibling rivalry.
“I wanted to write something local, funny and a little bit ridiculous, but that also shows how we change with the world around us.”
Slatter was influenced by classic Australian comedies. Castle, Muriel’s Wedding And Kath and Kim.
“They are very exaggerated characters – bogan Aussie accents, love of sports.”
8 More Years It is performed at the PIP Theater in Brisbane from 10-12 December as part of the theatre’s annual Toucan Club Festival.
Excavation Construction of the Victoria Park area is planned to begin in mid-2026.
