British Open: Anthony McGill beats John Higgins to set up final against Shaun Murphy

McGill from a career of 12 people was in danger of falling from the tour, but the first 50 return was guaranteed.

Murphy said he was “satisfied”: “I made a very difficult lottery to reach the finals, but I hope this didn’t come out much.

“It has been a while since I won a ranking event, so it would be nice to get one more.”
