Broncos, Roosters trading tries in entertaining Suncorp battle

Christ no. Billy Smith goes from heroic to nothing as he allows the Broncos’ kick-off to bounce in goal and the ball bounces over Lindsay Collins and into the goal. It’s a dropout, and a grumpy-looking Collins lets Smith know he’s not impressed (he apologized a moment later).

The Roosters then awarded a penalty when Collins’ chest or shoulder hit the head of Broncos’ Xavier Willison and he fell to the ground, dazed. Collins is on report and Willison is on leave for HIA.

In the next set, Preston Riki makes a tackle just short of the try line, then Cory Paix tries his hand with a dive from dummy half. But he stopped and the Broncos turned the ball over on the next interception.
