‘Brutal’: Australia backs US and Israel attacks on Iran

While Australia, Israel and the USA launch major military attacks against the Iranian people, they give their support to the Iranian people.

Tehran was rocked by explosions and airstrikes, pushing the Middle East into another conflict with huge consequences.

In his statement, the Prime Minister said Australia stands with the Iranian people in their fight against oppression.

“For decades, the Iranian regime has been a destabilizing force through its ballistic missile and nuclear programs, its support of armed proxies, and its brutal acts of violence and intimidation,” Anthony Albanese said. he said.

Mr Albanese said Australia and its international partners were calling on the Iranian regime to support the human rights of its citizens.

“These calls were ignored,” he said.

“Instead, the regime launched a brutal crackdown on its own people, resulting in the deaths of thousands of Iranian civilians.

“A regime that relies on the oppression and killing of its own people to retain power has no legitimacy.”

Mr Albanese also highlighted recent Iranian attacks on Australian soil, including attacks targeting Jewish communities.

He described Iran’s nuclear program as a threat to global peace and security.

“We support the United States taking action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to prevent Iran from continuing to threaten international peace and security,” the Prime Minister said.

Australians are urged not to travel to Iran and everyone there is urged to leave the country.

“Our ability to provide consular assistance in Iran is extremely limited,” Mr. Albanese said.

Australia has also upgraded its travel advice for Israel and Lebanon to ‘do not travel’. A diplomatic crisis center was established.

“Australians should leave now if it is safe to do so,” the Prime Minister said.
