CJI Lays Foundation For Judicial Academy Near Amaravati

Amaravati/Tirupati: Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant laid the foundation stone of the Justice Academy at Pichukalapalem near Amaravati on Sunday. The CJI was welcomed by senior judicial officers and government officials on his arrival at the venue.

“Justice CJI Surya Kant laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Justice Academy at Pichukalapalem near Amaravati,” an official press release said.

The statement stated that the academy will be built at a cost of Rs 165 billion, with academic, accommodation and training facilities to accommodate 120 trainee judges in each batch.

The proposed complex will include an academic block, hostel facilities, indoor sports facilities and other infrastructure with a total built-up area of ​​around 2.05 lakh sq ft.

Block A (G+3) has an auditorium for 500 people with a stage and pre-event area, a seminar hall for 120 people, two classrooms for 70 people, a moot courtroom for 70 people, a forensic laboratory for 60 people, a computer laboratory for 50 people, a library and reading room for 48 people, director and administrative offices, judges’ lounge, faculty room, collaboration areas, health unit, nursery facility, 3 meter wide corridors and a central elevator.

Block B (G+3) residential facilities will consist of a dining hall for 108 people, a VIP dining hall for 10 people, a kitchen and service area, a gym, two badminton court halls, a squash court, a table tennis hall and a multi-purpose hall for yoga and meditation.

Block B2 (G+8) will offer residential accommodation with a typical 98-seat hostel unit, five suite rooms, relaxation area on each floor, pantry and service facilities; Block B3 (G+1) will include a swimming pool, parking facilities and accommodation for support staff.

The complex will also have a basement car park, two separate two-wheeler parking areas, bicycle and walking paths, a driver’s dormitory and two service areas, and will be located 5.7 kilometers away from the AP High Court, with a connection via a 50-meter wide road.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Supreme Court Justices J K Maheshwari, PS Narasimha, Prasanth Kumar Mishra, SV N Bhatti and Joymalya Bagchi also attended the programme.

Earlier today, Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India, laid the foundation stone of a new court complex in Tirupati district. On arrival at the construction site, the CJI received a guard of honor from the Andhra Pradesh Police.

“The Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, laid the foundation stone of the newly proposed complex of 16 court buildings in Tirupati district on Sunday,” an official press release said.

He later attended the Bhumi Puja ceremony and unveiled the foundation plaque of the upcoming court complex.

Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur and Supreme Court Justices PS Narasimha, Prasanth Kumar Mishra, SV N Bhatti and Joymalya Bagchi also attended the event.
