Bryson DeChambeau dismisses making another 3D-printed iron at the Masters

After a tough first round at Augusta National on Thursday, Bryson DeChambeau didn’t seem pleased when asked about his 3D-printed 5-iron.
The two-time US Open champion had an eventful first round at the Masters; He hit a bogey putt on the sixth hole and made three separate bunker shots on the 11th.
He had to face the media after the tour and was asked questions about the process of creating his private club outside of the driver.

DeChambeau said starting a club is roughly a “day and a half” process, so when asked if he’d “like to go through” the process of starting another club, he said it was an absolute no.
“Pfft, no. It has to be USGA compliant. There’s a whole process you have to go through,” he said.
A club he founded himself.
“I have a nature in myself where innovation is a habit and I really find and take pride in the ability to learn from failure, even a bad decision or a good decision, what I can get out of it.” he told ESPN.

“We’ll see where it goes. We’ll see where it takes me. All I can say now is if I don’t put them in the bag, it’ll be my fault.”
DeChambeau said after the tour that he had only used the club once on Thursday.
Last year, DeChambeau was in the final group of the Masters alongside winner Rory McIlroy. The two combined to close out the previous year’s US Open as well; DeChambeau was upset by McIlroy’s poor putt and DeChambeau’s loss to Pinehurst No. 18. He won thanks to his forever-remembered ups and downs in the dugout at 2.
But he failed to achieve similar success after shooting a 4-over 76 on Thursday, leaving himself in danger of missing the cut.

DeChambeau had the second best chance of winning the tournament, behind only Scottie Scheffler.
