Cabinet Expansion Likely Soon, Belagavi Deserves More Representation: Jarkiholi

Belagavi: Karnataka Chief Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Monday touched upon a number of political and administrative issues, including cabinet expansion, leadership discussions and ongoing investigations.
Speaking to the media in Belagavi, Jarkiholi said that there have been speculations regarding the expansion of the cabinet for some time.
“There is a saying: sooner or later it will happen,” he said.
On reports that senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad might be appointed as a minister, he added, “I don’t know about that. The high command will decide.”
Pointing out the size of Belagavi, Jarkiholi said the region should be given more representation in the cabinet.
“Belagavi is a big district. Three ministerial posts should be given. It would be good if that happens,” he said.
He explained that no one from the district has a direct approach yet.
“Who will be elected will be decided by taking into account who will benefit the party in the next elections,” he added.
Reacting to speculations that the CM may take up an organizational role in the party, Jarkiholi said that the party has maintained the same attitude since the beginning.
“We have been saying this from the beginning. Everyone has been saying it. He will be there in the 2028 elections, and we will go to the elections under his leadership,” he said.
He said there was no need for excessive debate in the debates around Ahinda leadership.
“It will become clear over time. There is no need to emphasize this so much,” he said.
AHNDA is the Kannada acronym for Alpasankhyataru, Hindulidavaru and Dalitaru (minorities, OBCS, SCs).
On the demand to increase milk prices, Jarkiholi said that the relevant minister should visit and call.
“If this issue cannot be resolved, let the minister come. Then the decision will be made,” he said.
Responding to the investigation that the SIR process is being misused, he said the exercise is going on smoothly and will be completed on time.
“The Election Commission is in Delhi. If they are informed, they will investigate. Let them state what the problem is. A complaint has already been lodged,” he said.
Commenting on the alleged theft at Ram Mandir Hundi, Jarkiholi said that it is a serious matter.
“Hundi theft is a serious problem and should be investigated. The investigation is already ongoing. Whoever is guilty should take action in accordance with the law,” he said.
He also remarked on RSS statements, saying, “No matter what the RSS says, it will not come out. It will remain secret.”
