Pappireddipatti constituency was created in 2011 after Dharmapuri was delimited to replace Morappur constituency. Since then, Pappireddipatti has seen four elections, including the bye election in 2019 after the then incumbent MLA P. Palaniappan was disqualified. People in the constituency have consistently voted for AIADMK since its formation.
Pappireddipatti will see a two-way contest between DMK and AIADMK in a constituency that has consistently returned AIADMK MLAs.
