Election Commission Assures Inclusive Voter Revision in Bihar

Opposition parties united in criticism, and argued that the Supreme Court could deprive millions of voters of their rights. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear these petitions on July 10th.
EC officials stressed that the revision covers the entire 7,89,69,844 registered voters in Bihar. The pre -filled numbering forms, including details such as the name, address and old photo of the voter, were distributed to 7.69 Crore voters covering 97.42% of voters. Booth level officers (BLOS) are visiting at least three houses to collect completed forms and the first visit has been completed and the second continues. During this process, it was found that many voters died, migrated or changed.
All voters who send the numbering forms will be included in the Draft Roll to be published on August 1st. Election Registration Officers (EROS) will compile the draft by including all forms taken before 25 July.
Among the conformity criteria to be included in the list of voters, Indian citizenship, at least 18 years old in the history of elimination, ordinary residence and legal disqualification in the election zone. Any exclusion will follow an official investigation from ERO to the Regional Magistrate (DM) and then to the Chief Election Officer (CEO).
After publishing the draft roller, Eros will verify the suitability according to the documents and field reports. In case of doubt, they will give the speech orders after informing the relevant selector. Victims may object to the ERO decisions in line with the 24th part of the representation of the 1950 People’s Law and may appeal more to the CEO.
