CCTV captures horrifying moment man dragged almost 1km along southwest Sydney road in alleged carjacking

Horrifying CCTV captured the moment a man was dragged almost 1km down a road and taken to hospital during an attempted carjacking in Sydney’s south-west.
Detectives are currently appealing for information following an alleged car theft along River Rd in the suburb of Elderslie at around 5.30pm on Sunday.
A 43-year-old man was driving his silver Holden Statesman Caprice sedan when he was allegedly attacked by a man who stole his car.
7News reported that the man was dragged at least a half-mile down the road after his clothes got caught in the vehicle while he was struggling with a car thief.
The moments when the man clung to the front door on the passenger side while the vehicle was speeding down the road were recorded on CCTV.
The broadcaster reported that police were alerted after the bloody man entered the Camden Fruit Barn store.

The building’s owners, Steven Gugliotti and Chris Oliverio, told 7News they encountered the horrific sight while closing that day.
We were just wrapping up the day.
“The guy came in here, he was bleeding and didn’t look well,” the duo said.
“We weren’t sure what it was, but we knew something was wrong.
NSW Police said the man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
The crime scene was identified and an investigation was launched.
