Centre grants one-year extension to Statistics & Programme Implementation Secretary
Garg is the 1991 Collective Indian Administrative Service (retired) officer of the Odisha squad.
The Cabinet Appointment Committee approved the expansion of the period of office of Garg as the Secretary, the Ministry of Statistics and Program Application, for a year until 31 July 2025, ie July 31, 2026, or on the contract basis on existing conditions and conditions.
The officer also said that the secretary would discharge the functions to the National Statistical Commission.
Garg was elected as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Program Application on 30 May 2024. Later, the secretary worked as a department of social justice and strengthening.
