Chet Hanks lives in Nashville trailer park while chasing country music dreams

Chet Hanks traded in a lifetime of luxury leases on wheels after a solo road trip along the California coast forced him to rethink what “home” looks like.
Hanks, 35, revealed that he was living in a trailer park in Nashville while pursuing his country music dreams. The “Running Point” star explained her decision to swap fancy apartments and hotels for good neighbors in a new interview.
“I didn’t want to buy an apartment, because I literally bought an apartment in Los Angeles and furnished it. You know, it was like my first property, like I was buying it,” Tom Hanks’ son said.The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” “I didn’t want to do this again and I didn’t want to lay it. I was staying in Airbnbs and hotels and that got really old because I like having my own space.“
“I went on this journey because I was bored alone,” he added. “I wanted to take a little getaway. And I went to the Bay Area in Carmel. If you know where Carmel in California is. It’s really nice. I stayed in the Airstream trailer and I really loved it. I said, ‘Man, I want one of these. I want to get one of these.’ So I did. I got a trailer“

While Hanks isn’t ready to own an Airstream just yet, he explained that the camper he purchased works well and has everything he needs.
“I have a kitchen. You know, I have a walk-in shower,” Hanks said. “Having shower cabins in trailers is a big problem because sometimes they combine the toilet and shower. This is called a wet bathroom.“

Hanks claimed that he was the youngest person at the trailer park, “around 30 to 40,” but that he liked his neighbors, who were “great people.”
“It’s not what you think, you know?” he told Fallon. “You think, ‘Oh, you’re going to live in a trailer park? It might be a little sketchy. It might be a little dangerous.’ Just like retirees.”

Hanks said he does campfire activities and uses the fire pit in his spare time.
“But most of the time I do the same thing I do at home, which is stay in and lie in bed and watch Netflix and things like that,” she added.

Hanks began his country music career in 2025 by forming the band Something Out West with his collaborator Drew Arthur. The duo released “Leaving Hollywood” and recently performed at the Stagecoach Festival. Hanks’ father, Tom Hanks, was also seen attending the ceremony.
