Chicago fire LIVE: Huge blaze spreads to several houses with 1 collapsing | World | News

A house collapsed in Chicago after a massive fire spread through many homes and garages. Approximately three properties were seen burning in the 4700 Block of W Fulton Avenue in West Garfield Park on the city’s west side.

Disturbing footage from the scene showed several houses on fire, including one believed to have collapsed. One of the houses was reported to have collapsed around 9.30am CDT (3.30pm BST in the UK).

Images shared online show smoke filling the sky over the city.

Some bus routes were diverted due to the fire. A spokesperson for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) said: “Cicero buses will temporarily be routed in both directions via Cicero, Washington, Laramie, Chicago, then resume their normal routes in Cicero.”
