Centre deputes teams to assess damage in disaster-hit States

The Ministry of Interior (MHA) has formed between ministries central teams (IMCTs) to evaluate damage in the states affected by unprecedented rainfall, floods and other disasters in the last few days.
The Ministry said that an IMCT was established for Jammu and Kashmir’s Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir Union.

Teams will make an on -site assessment of the situation and aid measures carried out by the state governments. They are planned to visit the affected areas at the beginning of next week. A IMCT and a multi -sector team have already visited Himachal Pradesh.
Each IMCT is managed by a senior officer of the joint secretary level of the MHA or National Disaster Management Institution (NDMA) and includes officials from the Ministry of Spending, Agriculture and Farmer welfare, blinds, power, highway transport and highway transportation and rural development.
MHA, the affected states are in contact with senior officers and rescue operations and the restoration of the basic services for the National Disaster Response Power (NDRF) teams, army personnel and air force helicopters, including the expandation of logistics support, he said.
