Chris Cash and Christopher Berry: Charges dropped against parliamentary researcher accused of spying for China

In the United Kingdom, two people were accused of espionage for China.
30 -year -old Christopher Cash and 33 -year -old Christopher Berry refused to violate the official secrets of secrets by providing information or documents “useful for an enemy” and “prejudiced for England’s security or interests”.
The accusations against the alleged incidents between the end of 2021 and February 2023.
Mr. Cash was a parliamentary researcher, focusing on security and foreign relations, working with senior politicians from the Conservative Party.
Previous Security Minister Tom Tugendhat, who served as the President of the Committee of Foreign Affairs Committee, and his senior Tories, including Alicia Kearns.
Mr. Berry is reported to be an Oxfordshire -based academician who has been teaching in China since 2015.
The two men were accused of contacting each other and a person suspected of being a Chinese intelligence agent.
After claiming that he was not guilty before, they would be tried in October at the Central Criminal Court of London.
However, prosecutors said on Monday, the case could not continue, he said.
The Royal Prosecutor’s Office, “the evidence in this case was kept in constant review and now the standard of evidence for the crime is no longer met,” he said.
“No more evidence will be offered.”
