Chris Woakes: England all-rounder retires from international cricket

The UK versatile Chris Woakes retired from the international cricket after being removed from the Ashes team this winter.

62 test matches for his 36 -year -old country played 122 one -day international and 33 T20.

Woakes was a part of the UK team, which won the 50 Over 2019 World Cup in the T20 World Cup in 2022 in an exciting final against New Zealand in Lord’s.

In 2011, he took the T20 match for the UK for the first time and played his first test in the last match of the 2013 Ashes series.

Woakes was part of the UK side that attracted 2-2 in a fascinating test series against India this summer.

On the first day of the fifth test, he was exposed to a suspicious shoulder and went to the bat with his left arm on a hanger on the last day.

Woakes ends with an average of 29.61 and 2.034 running with an average of 192 small door test records at 25.11.

“The moment came and I decided that it was right to retire from the international cricket.”
